Alma 32:41

...Nourish the tree as it beginneth to grow, by your faith with great diligence, and with patience, looking forward to the fruit thereof, it shall take root; and behold it shall be a tree springing up unto everlasting life.

I have started an Etsy store

I am trying to sell onesies that I hand paint. I sold some at a craft fair this last weekend and did ok. So I am taking the leftovers on-line to see if I can sell the rest. :) If it goes well I will sell some more. I actually already ordered some more onesies because I found a good price on some on clearance...so hopefully I can sell these. If not, well, I know plenty of people with baby showers coming up- including myself. :) So no harm done- but don't be surprised if you get a onesie in the mail. :) Heres a link to look at the designs I have to offer. Let me know which are your favorites. I have two posted at my Etsy shop right now and plan on posting at least 8 more- for now. Tell me which ones I should post first. I'd love feedback on pricing and what info you want to know in the description. What other kinds of things would you like to see in the shop? Thank You! Check out my shop at Spitfire Creations. Also check out my gallery at Photobucket.

Pumpkin Patch

I love the fall!!! Fall and Spring are probably my favorite seasons- for the temperate climate and all the wonderful colors! Shawnery Mathis made this awesome kit Autumn Memories to go with this time of year. This is our son's second fall and the first one where he can start to appreciate the fun stuff that goes on. We took Kaden to this awesome farm near us. They have a Harvest Festival going on right now so with your admission fee you got to ride in a tractor drawn wagon, lose our way in a corn maze(which has significance for my husband and I as we met going to a corn maze with friends we had in common), watch an animal show and pig races, look at various farm animals (including goats that walk on planks above your head and baby pigs), and of course pick from hundreds of pumpkins. They also had some wonderful vendors selling yummy food. It was a ton of fun. Of course I snapped tons of photos and have been itching to scrap them. So here is the page I came up with. Let me know what you think and go check out Shawnery's Autumn Times kit at www.digiscrapdesigner.com.

More Fun Times

heehee. I love the photo of Kaden putting the hose on Liam. It's a good thing Liam liked it otherwise he would have taken Kaden down! This was our first night in Utah. It was so refreshing for Kaden after the long car ride. And good for him to get a little more dirt off before going in the bath. Liam is much more adventurous in the pool than Kaden. He dives in and does belly flops. I hadn't realized how cautious my boy is before. Though he wasn't as cautious when he was younger. Liam was a good example for Kaden. He's four months older and wiser. :)

Appropriately I mainly used Shawnery Mathis' Fun Times kit- available at digiscrapdesigner.com
I also used he Beauty in Nature kit for the cardboard elements and her Back to school kit for the ricrac and paint splashes and circles. All available at Digiscrapdesigner.

The title is created with A Cox's Dymo alpha. And the journaling is in SBC Love Mom. And that's everything...

Here's my newest LO. On the drive to Utah we let Kaden out of the car to run around at a rest stop. They had just had a fire- one of the largest in history I believe. The dirt was covered in ash and some of the picnic tables were charred. Kaden ignored the picnic tables but he loved the dirt obviously. I had to clean him up in the sink which was no easy feat. :) All the people who saw him thoroughly enjoyed his joy at getting messy. Everyone talked about how great it was to be a kid. They told him not to grow up and told me to always let him play in the dirt. I used Shawnery Mathis' Fun Times kit available at www.digiscrapdesigner.com . It's a perfect boy kit and yet the primary colors would be great for a girl page too. Basically it is versatile. I also used a postcard and road sign from C. Shields Road Trip kit and the Alpha is a Paper Towel Alpha by Dirty Feet Designs. The Alpha is SBC Love Mom. Below you can see Shawnery's preview for the Fun Times Kit.

New LO

I used Karla's Back to School kit and Graph Doodles for the bulk of the page. Her store link is in my sidebar. The music doodles are by Kate hadfield and the Sing Alpha is Retrodiva.

Just getting back in the groove of scrapping. I have tons of photos from our trip to Utah that I want to scrap but I haven't been feeling creative lately. There are some really fun photos of Kaden covered in Dirt at a rest stop and of him playing in the pool with one of his friends. Also I need to scrap the photos of him with his Great- Grandma. I also need to scrap our exciting news!

I am 11 weeks prego! We are very excited. I am due on April 18th.

Oh and karla is having another sale and a chat so check out her blog(in my sidebar) for more ingo.

75% off sale at Karla's Kaleidoscope Designs!!!

One day only! Tomorrow! Go check it out!

Sorry I have been gone for so long. We went on a week long vacation that turned into a week and a half as we stayed longer to attend the funeral of my husband's Grandma. We were extremely saddened by the fact that we didn't get to see her before she passed. Visiting her was one of the main reasons we made the trip. On the positive side we were glad that we were able to pay our respects to her at her funeral and be there for my husband's family. On the not so positive side our son picked up a nasty stomach flu that lasted over a week. He managed to pass it on to an aunt and uncle and a friend before we left too. Yuck! So we've been dealing with the aftermath of travel and sickness. Basically our schedule has been totally thrown off. I started my new job- just an hour and a half in the mornings 6:30-8. That's been wearing me out too. I think by the end of this week we will back in the normal groove of things again. At least I hope so!

Been busy scrapping and KKD CT call

Shawnery Mathis has come out with a Back to school kit. Since my son is much to young for school I thought it would work well with my Kindergarten photos. heehee. That was a long time ago. Amazingly I still remember the names of most of the people in my class. Just first names for the most part. I probably can remember them because we remained in school together until I moved in 4th grade. I kept in touch with two of them for a little while after that. Anyway. Hope you enjoy my trip down memory lane...
Based on feedback I altered this LO from the one I posted earlier. I Made the photo more the center of attention and made the stars smaller. I really like the ruler frame and the gold star. This is made with Karla's back to School kit, her stars freebie on her blog, Scrapgirl's folded corner template, and Kate Hadfield's Doodle paper Alpha.

We had a fun day in Santa Monica last week with one of my best friends, Catherine. Kaden loved the teeny tiny aquarium and Catherine and I loved the shopping. I used Shawnery's Beauty in Nature kit and Seebee's Photo cluster freebie from her blog.

I love Scrapbook.com and some of my favorite artists there do this simple graphic style. I love it but have a hard time leaving so much white space. Matt doesn't like it as much either. I think it is beautiful though. This is my first attempt at it. I realized afterward that most of the people who do this style make it 8 and 1/2 by 11. I think that is a better size. I may have to do an album like this of some of the more serious photos of Kaden. I have the album and sleeves so I might as well . Extra bonus I can print it out on my own printer. For this page I used Karla's blog freebie Denim and Grunge for the background paper. The brushes are Choice Spring by callmereal designs and the fonts are Pristine, Garamond, and Poor Richard.

Karla is having another CT call! Check out her blog in my blogroll for more info. I love being on her CT and highly recommend it!

TFL!

Nice Matters!

I've been nominated for a nice matters award! Misty at Li'l Buck Creations nominated me! I've never been nominated for anything before. I feel special!

Interesting story- when I was in fifth grade I was rejected from the "popular" crowd because I was too nice and polite. Haha! Now it's all paid off. :) j/k

So in turn I nominate in no particular order
1. mesokee
2. Sarah at Scrap blog
3. Gina at Peeking into Liam's world
4. Jenny at True Nature
5. Heather at a Jagged Thought

All very nice and wonderfully talented friends!

Suggestions welcome

Kaden riding with me in the Ergo. Still loving it. We went to Santa Monica for the day and I carried him most of the time. He was so much happier- I think he likes being up high and looking around as well as being close to mommy.

Here's my latest LO using Karla's back to school kit. I've been wanting to make some growth chart milestone pages of Kaden and I thought the Rulers in this kit would be great for it. I may keep experimenting with this- not sure this is my favorite design for it. I also used a curled edge template from Scrapgirls and Kate Hadfield's doodle alpha. And Karla's freebie stars from her blog. I also used a brush by Jason Gaylor.

Suggestions are welcome.

Lovin' Babywearing!

I am new to babywearing even though my son is now 18 months. I tried a Bjorn and a sling(not a wrap type one though) a little when he was younger but never really took to it. It was more inconvenient- too hard to get him in and out and uncomfortable to wear. I found an Ergo recently at our local consignment shop and picked it up. I love it!!! I got it more with an eye to the next baby since I am not too excited about a double stroller and I figure I will need a way to carry around baby #2 while chasing baby #1. I love it for baby #1 and so does he. He gets so antsy in the stroller sometimes or just wants to run around the store or be held. This way I can talk to him, bounce him, or carry him on my back(he loves piggy back rides) easily. My true test for it was when I used it at the grocery store. I stuck him on my back because he always wriggles out of the safety straps on the cart and stands up. It was a much easier trip than others. I spent an hour with him comfortably on my back. He would fuss occasionally but much less than he does in the cart and I didn't have to stress over him falling out of the cart. Yay for babywearing! My husband has noticed how much happier Kaden is with it too. I'd love to try some other styles of babywearing gear but can't justify it when I have the great Ergo already. Also I am not sure how well the Ergo will work for a newborn- -we would have to buy an insert. So I signed up for When 2 became 3's giveaway for a wrap! You should go and sign up too!

Mohawk Mishap

Recently my husband asked me to buzz his hair. He usually keeps it a little longer and spiky on the top but he was feeling the summer heat and wanted it shorter. I think it's the easiest kind of haircut for me to give him and he looks good in it so I agreed. He is in charge of setting everything up for me to cut his hair and also cleaning it up afterwards. So he set up his chair and everything and handed me the clippers .... WITH NO ATTACHMENT. I looked at them and then thought- oh yeah he wants a buzz so this should be fine. NOT FINE! I shaved his head! Poor guy! When we realized that I had shaved it he asked for a mohawk for one night. If I had cut straight he might have kept it longer but truthfully it looked a little funny and the next day was church and a poorly cut mohawk just didn't seem in the right spirit for church. So he kept it for just one night and wore his hat when we went out. It was pretty funny. The next morning I shaved his whole head. I am so glad that his hair grows fast! It looked normal again in about two weeks. Poor guy! I won't make that mistake again- I hope!

The Cardboard in this LO is from Reelynn's Beauty in Nature kit. The Duct tape frame is a freebie from Designs by Valerie Foster- she just got picked up as a designer for scrapbook.com! The tattoo brush is by Jason Gaylor. And the rest is from Mindy Armour from her kit A Guy Thing Muchie. The Fonts are Courier and For the Hundredth Time.

New LOs

The above LO is made using Reelynn's Geocaching and Beauty in nature kit. The title is done using her Paint splatters and Paintbrush Alpha. All will be available at her store at www.scrapprofessor.com. Designing-moments is going to be closing and all of her kits will be transferred to Scrapprofessor.

I love this photo of DS. He has been trying to stack his blocks for awhile without luck because they are too small. He easily stacks these cans though so maybe I need to get him some bigger blocks. Poor DH was worried the whole time that he would drop the cans on his(DS'S) feet. Of course only DH got hit with the falling cans. :) Kaden enjoyed knocking them down.
We tried taking photos of the three cousins on my side of the family while we were on vacation. Obviously we were not so successful. Kaden is giving his version of the "all done" sign in the middle photo. LOL! Taking photos of kids is not easy.

I used Karla's Backyard Buganza kit(www.designsbykarla.com) and Vickie Stegall's Glitz Alpha freebie from Oscraps.

Kaden loves Dogs

I just loved these photos of Kaden with my in-laws dog. They have 2 sweet Golden Retrievers. Kaden has never been afraid of them - even when they bark. He just laughs. It makes me a little nervous how comfortable he is around dogs since not all are as friendly. So far I've been able to keep him from running up to dogs and touching them. I need to train him to ask first. He's a little young yet so until then I will just hold him back. Hopefully that will teach him to wait and not just run up. I used Reelynn's Beauty in Nature kit and her Paintbrush Alpha and Paint splatters. The Beauty in Nature kit is available at www.designing-moments.net and the alpha and splatters are available at www.scrapprofessor.com.

Backyard Buganza

I love this Kit from Karla's Kaleidoscope designs! She has some cool background papers in it with the paper tears already on the page. The kit includes some cool bugs that I didn't include in this LO but I plan to in a future LO. They are so fun! I love these colors! So anyway- above is the first LO I've done with the kit. This is how my son watches TV- definitely not a passive activity for him. ;) He sure is happy doing it though. I like a lot of things about the LO though I still have a kind of itching feeling that it is missing something. Suggestions are welcome. Oh- and besides Karla's kit I also used Kate Hadfield's Doodle paper alpha and the staples are from Scrapbook.com. The journaling font is Kristin ITC.

Such fun papers

I love the Island Dreamin' kit by Reelynn. It's available at Scrapprofessor.com. I used one of her Templates from Volume 2 for this LO. The papers are so rich and fun. The Hawaiian theme is great for all summer pics, I think, even this pic taken in my boring backyard. :) I also used a Glitter Alpha from Jennilyn designs and the font is CK Typeset.

I took a bunch of photos of Kaden eating his first homemade Popsicle. I found the mold at the dollar store and couldn't resist. We had some Juicy Juice harvest surprise juice that we were a little weirded out about drinking because it is made with Veggies. Good and healthy but mentally hard to wrap your brain around for some reason. It tastes like grape juice so it really is just a mental thing. Anyway, we weren't drinking it so I thought I would freeze it in the Popsicles. Kaden loves them and begs for them every time I open the freezer. I don't mind giving them to them since I know he is getting a serving of his veggies when he eats them. :) It's more expensive than otter pops but a lot healthier. He made some cute faces for me while he downed his first one and I took tons of photos. I used one of my favorites in this LO.

My Layout using the crop kit

The beach kit that the crop kit came from is even cooler. More colors and awesome elements. It's by Karla Marano and can be found at Tina Williams' designs I took this picture on the fourth of July. My sister and brother-in-law brought over the slip and slide- mostly for their 8 year old daughter. My brother and brother-in-law could not resist. They said it hurt though and looked at the warning label at the top of the slide. It is not recommended for use by anyone over 5' 3" or 120 lbs! LOL ! They are tall boys and definitely not 120. Even with the pain they couldn't stop sliding.

Yay for digiscrapping!

These 2 LOS are made with Karla Marano's Big Big Trucks kit
Available at Tina Williams' Design
I also used the Aquastatic template by Tasha Stanton on the above LO

Above I used the kit Precious by Reelynn
Below I used the kit Island Dreamin' by Reelynn
both available at www.scrapprofessor.com

I love Digiscrapping! No mess, no worries, and I can reuse all of the products I buy to my heart's content. It's perfect! Some day I may want to be a hybrid scrapper since I love the hands on creativity of paper scrapping. But not until my kids are all big enough to handle adult scissors on their own. :) By then I may be too addicted to digiscrapping to ever turn back.

I am starting this blog because i have been chosen for two Creative Teams. I am now designing pages with products from Reelynn and Karla Marano. You will find links to their shops in my favorite links. They are both amazing designers as you can see from the above Layouts. :)

Karla is hosting a Crop at Tina Williams' Designs: Splash! Jump in and join us for a beach party crop on July 18th, 2007 at 9 PM Eastern, 8 PM Central Time in the chatroom.
